Fare Thee Well, DU.
I have been posting a collection of pics each week, in response to a kindness I cannot ever re-pay, or thank you enough. Four years ago, my father passed away suddenly, and this community, as one, came to my aid and made my grief a bearable burden.
I have always considered this a debt I can never repay.
After the events of this past Sunday, it appears that it is time to consider that debt paid, and in full.
I love you all, but when the innocuous can be taken as something other than it is, it's time to move along.
Mr. Allen, I'll take mine with bacon and sausage.

been happening slowly since the 08 primaries when Rush launched Operation Chaos. People infiltrated this place and made it nasty. They are good, and know how to walk the fine line between disruption and getting tombstoned. I am always wary of join dates after 08. Someone just whined that a cartoon that was posted in the thread was violent against woman (a cartoon showing a woman flying on Superman's back, and she starts getting chatty, and Superman drops her).
She then implied that SCE was probably a mean person in real life because he didn't immediately delete the offending/
"triggering" cartoon.
I think it's a case of taking a lot of time accumulating and compiling LOLs, and then having someone shit on it. There's a certain feeling of "I'm doing this to bring you people joy, and instead, I get sniping? Well, **** off." (<-- my take, not his) A total slobberfest.

1,200 people have seen this, and realize it isn't saying that women falling to their deaths is funny.
Superman and Lois lane are not real. He can't really fly, and he didn't really let her fall off his back. There are DC comic fans who see the thread and get it. In comic book land (see Not Real) Supe would have spotted and saved the falling Lois. Then again as I have stated (twice now) it isn't real.
Why aren't you equally upset about the idea of hunters being eaten by bears? How is that cuuuuuuuuuuuute? |
