What a shame you didn't get pics of her. I would have loved to see that GWB tat.

What a shame you didn't get pics of her. I would have loved to see that GWB tat. Well, since she's not a public figure, if I had a photograph, I wouldn't post it. Internet security and all that; you know I'm squeamish about it. It took me a while, and I somewhat discombobulated her, staring at the thing just atop the elbow on her arm, trying to figure out what it was. It was sort of like one of those lurid Goya portraits, the face of George Bush distorted into a swastika. On her other arm, she had some sort of tattoo of a horse twisted and contorted into a cross. The neighbor says his aunt-in-law is, or was, a "wiccan," and in one of those "wiccan" sects that "worships" or holds "sacred," what comes out of the opposite end of horses. Apparently a fetish of that denomination of "wiccans."

From the radio address by King George VI, given to the people of the British Empire on December 25, 1939, when things were starting to go badly:
".....and I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year, 'Give me a light so that I may tread safely into the unknown.'
"And he replied, 'Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God. That shall be to you better than a light and safer than a known way'....."

Ahh...Aunt Sunshine is a natural for the DUmp, assuming she isn't already there.

EXCELLENT story, very much appreciated. We supped with my brother-in-law, who has four sons ranging from mid-twenties to mid-thirties. Being young and not long out of various graduate programs, they're liberal. But they are intelligent, pleasant liberals who generally keep their opinions to themselves, as do I, as do non-primitive decent people. The third-in-line to the throne is not as academically focused as his brothers and recently left a fairly lucrative white collar job in the real estate field for a blue collar position with the same company. He's a restless soul and couldn't handle the indoor worklife. As we were leaving, I hugged him and said, "Don't work too hard." He responded, "I'm union now. I'm guaranteed to never have to work hard again." I love them.

She might live longer if someone gave her internet access to DU, she will find some kindred spirits before becoming one. Spirit that is.

I skipped thxgiving for the expressed purpose of not having to deal with uber-liberal sister. I admit it.

Frank, I would have paid good money to have sat across the table from you and what ever she is. Just watching the faces of all of the dinners would have caused mashed potatoes to squirt out my nose. In a way you Dear Man remind me of Charles Dickens, you have the ability to bring unknown people to life with your descriptions. Your talent is to remind us that somewhere in their lives they too have run into someone that darn near matches those you describe.

What fun to watch as we get older and realise that everything we were taught through life was and is a lie.

How pathetic it is that you probably could have been able to tell her life story by just looking at her. Sad. Even more sad is the fact that our tax dollars are supporting her.
