Congratulations Jen!
After the writers cramp wears off the fun begins

OMG, you aren't kidding.

I don't normally sign my whole first name (just the first initial). Not only did they want my first name, they wanted my middle name too. My name isn't exactly a short one. I was starting to get a little sloppy there toward the end.

Welcome to the wonderful world of home ownership.

It has, as you will find, it's ups and downs.

Oh well, I wasn't using my civil liberties anyway.

Awesome!  I just bought my first house this year, and I can't think of a good reason to ever not be here.

You can paint the inside whatever color you want.

You can replace the carpet and put in whatever flooring you can afford.

But you also are on the hook if the hot water heater, furnace, A/C, electical or plumbing goes on the fritz.

Ups and downs.

But still better than paying rent for the most part.

In an hour and a half, I'll be heading to the title office to sign the closing papers on my first house.

I have a lot of nervous energy right now.

I'm looking forward to moving out of the apartment and kissing my renting days goodbye. I'm still sort of in awe that I was able to do this on my own, with my piddly little salary.

Life is full of surprises.

When I get all moved, I'll try and take some pics so you all can see it.

Nice job!

Ok, no ones told you yet so I'll be the one.  Go buy immediately;

Duct Tape (depending on where you shop "Duck Tape")

Bailing Wire

Super Glue

Band Aids

If these can't fix what's broke you'll have to call someone who has better stuff.

Good Luck!

That's okay, when I bought my first house, we signed paperwork while I was still in the hospital recovering from major surgery.  It was also the same day they took me off morphine and put me on vicodin.  Oh, did I mention that I hadn't HAD any pain pills in about 6 hours, and I was really, really, REALLY in a great deal of pain, although I couldn't get any vicodin because the nurses were changing shifts?

Yeah, fun times.

She's a girl. She should already have those items. Duct tape by the case.

Mine too! Somewhere Momma has a picture of what I swear looked like a ream and a half worth of papers we had to sign. We went with some first timers state bond money so there was more than usual. But it was worth every cramp and aggravation we went through. We love our home.
