WALKERSVILLE, Md.....is that the upper range of Southern Baptist?

If I were going to sue someone in this case, I'd sue the one, or ones, that brought the beer......most likely, I'd just scratch my ass and say "What?"

It's about 30 minutes from me...not huge baptist area...some but not prolific.     It probably wasn't the smartest thing to do, have alcohol at a party celebrating a kids' softball season, but I don't think it was worth firing him over.

I don't see the problem with any ADULT consuming alcoholic beverages at what appears to me to be an "UNofficial" team function. Was this function sanctioned by the school?? I doubt it. It seems to me that it was just a get-together between team mates, parents, and the coach. I hope he gets reinstated.

Nope.  Us Bible thumpin' Southern Baptists have infiltrated every state.

BTW, not all of us think we'll go to Hell for drinking a beer.

I learned in Bible study at a Southern Baptist Church that drinking is not against the Bible. It is something that man made up, hence man's law.

The Bible addresses excessive drinking among other things:

Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy. (NASU, Romans 13:13)

Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. (NLT, Ephesians 5:18)

There are other verses that address wine in a positive way:

May God give you of heaven's dew and of earth's richness-- an abundance of grain and new wine. (NIV, Genesis 27:28)

He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate-- bringing forth food from the earth: wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread that sustains his heart. (NIV, Psalms 104:14-15)

And then there is wisdom about drinking:

Let us then pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding. Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for you to make others fall by what you eat; it is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that makes your brother or sister stumble. The faith that you have, have as your own conviction before God. Blessed are those who have no reason to condemn themselves because of what they approve.  (NRSV, Romans 14:19-22)

The Bible is promoting moderate drinking.

Well, it certainly does not prohibit, does not require it, and tells you how if you're gonna.

I can find Bible verses that proves that God hates rabbits.

The rabbit, though it chews the cud, does not have a split hoof; it is unclean for you.
-Leviticus 11:6 (New International Version)

There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.
Proverbs 6:16-19 (New International Version)

I will destroy your high places, cut down your incense altars and pile your dead bodies on the lifeless forms of your idols, and I will abhor you.
Leviticus 26:30 (New International Version)

So. We shouldn't eat rabbits, but they are fine to keep as cute, cuddly pets, right?

God hates bunnies. Bunnies hates God. Bunnies are filthy sodomites. Bunnies are lawless.

Apparently so.  Those second two verses were about liberals.

It is not a sin to drink beer or wine in moderation. Jesus drank wine, according to Luke 7:30-34.
