 Graduating midshipmen of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis are being told in writing to leave at home or in their vehicles all "ceremonial swords" and anything else "that might be considered a weapon or a threat by screeners" for Friday's outdoor commencement ceremonies featuring an address by President Barack Obama. Inside the Beltway has obtained the academy's list of prohibited items for this year's graduation exercises, which, besides ceremonial swords, includes umbrellas. Did President Bush attend any of these commencements and were the same requirement issued?
I seem to remember him going not only to Annapolis but to West Point every year for 8 years and I don't recall any type of requirement of the graduating class. ANd common sense says that had there been that kind of restriction the MSM and the DUmmies would have latched onto it like a homeless guy on a dollar bill. |

Yes but did we hear about it? No. I would have never known about it from the coverage of him at Annapolis and the photo op of him greeting McCain's son. My best friend...Navy BMC (SW) told me about it today...and HE just heard about it. |

Honestly, though, when GWB visited the 82nd Division Review last May, we carried weapons, sure... M4's or M9's with the bolt/barrel pulled out, spring and follower removed from magazine on m4. We had fixed bayonets, but it would take one fast and suicidal sumbitch to do anything with one of them before being gunned down by Secret Service agents. |
