I have three anti-spyware programs, and although they are supposedly running all the time and guarding my system, I've had more than twenty trojan horse programs today, and--this is the main point of my post--I just tried to go to the White House website and got hijacked to another site.
That is how bad it is.
If you can recommend an anti-spyware program that actually works, please do so. This has been going on for me since the first week of April.
Unbelievable.
ON EDIT:
Yes, yes, I don't mean the Internet is messed up, but I'm saying it is depressing that everytime some of us go on the internet, in spite of the fact we have the most up to date protection from the alleged best programs, it's become such a drag to try to navigate around anymore.
It's not the internet's fault, obviously.

Dunno,I use AVG free and don`t have any problems.
They sure live complicated lives on the island but would guess that maybe this issue is because the primitive visits websites they shouldn`t so it sets off a red flag in the software they are using.

Rules:
1) don't download internet porn
2) don't download warez/keygens/hacking tools
3) don't download pirated moves & music
And that should keep you pretty safe.
If you are still going to download some/all of the above, switch to linux. in most cases the viruses and spyware are designed to work on Windows systems only, and will have no effect.

I run a firewall and Norton anti-virus. It seems to work pretty effectively.

Norton seemed to slow my computer down. I use PC Tools Spyware Doctor w/Anti-virus and run the Firefox browser. Internet Explorer sucks in spyware like a vacuum, I use it only for sites that won't run Firefox.... |
