Interesting story, of how other cultures take care of their handicapped children.
My daughter has Down Syndrome, her fathers mom wanted her put away and forgotten about - he never was able to accept her.

I have raised her myself, we have had to deal with attitudes of people since she was a baby. It seems to me, for the most part, just fear of the unknown. It seems a sad commentary on our society when people say 'wow you still take care of your daughter.'

There was a verse, or poem I saw years ago...you last line reminded me of it...called "and God said no"

There was a line in it that just touched my heart: I asked God to make my handicapped child whole, and God said no, he said her spirit is whole, her body is only temporary.

Thank you!
